Redmond High school is an upcoming public high school in Oregon. I was asked to create a mascot that would represent the whole school. Since Oregon has the largest population of llamas, I chose the llama to be the primary symbol of the school along with colors that are inspired by Oregon's State flag.

Starting with the reference photo, I created the general shapes and lines that I saw, and worked on refining those shapes and adding more detail. When I applied color, I kept refining and stylizing the shapes and added more dimension with shadows and highlights. In the end I worked in a growl to give a stronger look to the design. 

With this being a new school, I needed a name that represented the feeling of starting a new path, so the Trailblazers were chosen. After working through many outlines and effects, I finalized the design with great contrast and legibility.
